LED Cob Bulb
What is a COB LED light, and how does it differ from other types of LED lights?
COB stands for chip on board. A corn cob light contains many rows of small LED chips in an arrangement on a cylinder shaped bulb similar to corn on the cob. Hence the name “corn cob LED bulb”. Many of our other lights use the same quality LED chips.
How do I choose the right COB LED light for my specific lighting needs?
Each space is different, depending on your ceiling height, number of light fixtures and location on the ceiling/spacing, the type of project you are trying to complete, and many more factors. As a very broad guide, you would want: between 2,500-5,000 lumen for a 1-car garage with 10ft ceilings, between 5,000-10,000 lumen for a 2-car garage with 10ft ceilings; above 10,000 lumens for a 3-car garage or any space with ceilings 12 ft and higher.

Can COB LED lights be used outdoors, or are they only suitable for indoor use?
GT-Lite lights are damp rated. If used outdoors they must be protected from the weather: either installed under a porch/overhang, or in screen rooms and patios. Some COB lights are not rated for enclosed fixtures, so post lamps and other similar styles are not compatible with these bulbs. Check out our Lumen Tough line for enclosed and wet rated COB bulb options.
How do I install and mount my COB LED light properly?
Simply screw in to standard light fixtures with the E26 medium base. It is the same as a traditional A19 light bulb.
Are COB LED lights dimmable, and what types of dimming controls are available?
Corn COB LED lights are non-dimmable. Use of dimmer switches with these bulbs will void the warranty.
What is the expected lifespan of a COB LED light, and how do I know when it's time to replace it?
Our cob bulbs boast a 25,000-hour LED lifespan, equal to 22.8 years when used 3 hours per day, 7 days per week.
What's the CRI?
These lights have a color rendering index of 80.
What are the optimal operating temperatures for cob bulbs?

Are panel bulbs compatible with photocell or motion sensors?
Yes, our panel bulbs are compatible with photocell/motion sensors rated at least 150W.
Are panel bulbs compatible with ballasted fixtures?
No, the ballast must be bypassed if present.
How hot do the panels/lenses get?
While LED lights do put off significantly less heat when compared to incandescent and halogen style bulbs, high output folding bulbs will heat up over time. Any transformation of energy into light will create heat and our products are specifically designed to operate as efficiently as possible. Please be careful handling bulbs after prolonged use. While there is no fire danger they may still be hot to the touch for the first few minutes after being used for an extended period.

What can I grow with my LED grow lights?
Grow lights are perfect for starting fruit and vegetable seedlings in the early spring indoors, before transplanting in the garden once the weather allows. Grow lights are also ideal for flowers and herbs, and any indoor plant that would benefit from more red and blue spectrum light.
How many lights do I need for proper growth?
While we can provide the PPF output and wattage of our bulbs, we are unable to give exact information on every plant’s individual needs. Please do further research on your specific plant type, growing location in the home, climate, temperature, and many other factors to determine your plant’s particular needs.
Can LED grow light bulbs be used for all stages of plant growth, or do I need different bulbs for different stages?

Work Light
What are the different types of work lights?
GT-Lite offers both rechargeable and plug-in work lights. Some of our lights even offer an added USB port to charge your phone and other devices while you work. All of our work lights are lightweight and portable for home or on the job.
How many lumens do I need for my work light?
Lighting needs vary based on the jobsite, time of day, and availability of power. As a general guide, work lights with 1200-2000 lumen are perfect for compact areas like under the sink or workbenches. We have both a plug-in and rechargeable version. For medium-sized jobs like working under the hood of the car or in the garage, 4000-7000 lumens is great. For large job sites, working at night, or construction where you need the light to spread to the walls and ceiling, 10,000 lumens or more is ideal.
Can GT-Lite work lights be used both outdoors and indoors?
Our work lights are damp rated and can withstand ambient moisture and dust in outdoor environments. They should always be protected from rain, snow, and standing water. All plugs and receptacles should always be kept dry to avoid electric shock.
How do I charge my work light?
Your rechargeable work light comes with a USB-A to Micro charging cable.
- Insert the Micro end into the work light.
- Plug the USB-A end into an AC or DC power adapter.
- Plug adapter into power and charge for at least 8 hours.
Can I hold the work light in my hand?
Our work lights come with a built-in padded handle for comfort and carrying. It is recommended to unplug the work light from power when moving the light to other locations.
What's the CRI?
These lights have a color rendering index of 80.
How hot does this run? I need something for a typical remodeling jobsite w/flammable materials in the area. I need to replace a VERY hot halogen unit for safety.
Our work lights operate much cooler than a halogen unit! After one hour, the face of the light may be body temperature or slightly higher. This light is perfect for your typical remodeling job site! This product is not recommended for use near a gas source and is not vapor proof.
